Varicose Veins affect young people, too.

Varicose veins are not only for old people, they can affect young people, too.  They are just as painful and debilitating for a 20-year old as for a 50-year old.  Although most young people do not have many of the risk factors, such as years of standing or sitting for long periods, pregnancy or increased age, they can still have problems.  Heredity is a big contributor to the development of varicose veins, and so are strenuous activities, like weight lifting.

If you think you may be too young to have varicose veins, but have legs that feel heavy, tire easily, ache or are restless during the night, and these symptoms worsen at the end of the day, you might be interested in hearing this story.   Dustin Talks About Varicose Veins

Symptoms of varicose veins may include itching and burning, numbness and cramping.  Sometimes these are the result of a strenuous day on the football field, a long hike or a hard workout on the dance floor, but if you have not participated in these activities, and your legs are bothering you, there may be a problem with your circulation.

Varicose veins are not always visible on the skin surface, but there are signs that may indicate underlying problems.  These include swelling of feet and ankles, darkening of the skin around your ankles, dry, itchy skin, and sores that area slow to heal.  Left untreated, they may lead to leg ulcers or blood clots.

See a Vein Specialist (Phlebologist) to see if you could benefit from treatment.  Painful vein stripping is a thing of the past.  Laser treatment is minimally invasive, performed in the clinic and will allow you to return to most of your normal activities immediately. Visit www.veinclinicpa.com to learn more.
